Okay guys and girls, I'm gonna be fully honest here.
The race is in three weeks. So far, out of 25 or so available cars, six have been taken, and of those six, only one in the 5-liter class and only two 3-liter cars, and zero 2-liter GT cars.
I know of a fair bit of people that are supposedly/allegedly interested in competing in this race but failed to sign up/find a co-driver/whatever despite my attempts at helping and playing the matchmaker. Whether or not it's because the big cars (with good reason!) are only eligible for two-driver entries or because we're still using rFactor 1 or whatever the reason might be, I have no idea because nobody seemingly finds it necessary to come forward and message me about it.
I spent a good month on making this track work the way it does, and I'll stop it right there because I'm not about to whine about how i put so much effort into it just for the race to not happen.
Here's what's going to happen.
Either those that claim to be interested find a car/co-driver and sign up (which would be very appreciated because despite the apparent meta of "these cars are so deadly and so difficult to drive", they're actually very drivable and enjoyable!) or this race doesn't happen, and I can't tell you what consequences that has on the rest of the 2023 Masters Trophy and, for that matter, all of CMH.
I know 2022 was a shitshow and put many people off of competing here because of what happened, especially with certain drama happening on the old Discord server, however this is a new start from the bottom and, supposedly, it can only get better now.
Let's make it work together.
If by the end of February 12th the number of entries doesn't align with the spirit of the event, it won't go ahead. I'm sorry that I have to put it out in the harsh tone that I did, but the last thing I was hoping for was for 2023 to start off the way 2022 ended.
