CMH RULING - ROUND 3 - MEXICAN GRAND PRIX
Drivers involved: @matty, @nrm#1078, @joao Pedro#5492, @edex_LV#4528 and @notaviation#5174
Incident #1: Matthew Sibanyoni - Nick Riveira:
Ruling: Nick Riveira receives a warning for causing a collision with Matthew Sibanyoni on Lap 1 of the Mexican Grand Prix. Nick went for a gap in the Esses which wasn't there, causing Matthew to spin. This is the second time Nick has been observed driving overly aggressively in the early parts of the race and more violations will draw further disciplinary actions from the administration.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident #2: Matthew Sibanyoni (- Lucas Gomes - Felipe Fernandes):
Ruling: Matthew Sibanyoni receives a 3-place grid drop for the British Grand Prix. He went off in lap 2 and hit the wall, suffering sizeable suspension damage. Regardless of that, Matthew kept driving at full speed, weaving back and forth, intimidating and endangering other drivers. He also held up Lucas Gomes and Felipe Fernandes in a way which contributed to the accident between the Benetton and Ligier driver. Therefore, no action will be taken against either Lucas or Felipe. Matthew is hereby told to bring better judgement to the races about the state of his car and to pull over and retire if the damage to his car is severe enough.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident #3: Pedro Melo - Matthew Sibanyoni:
Ruling: Pedro Melo overtook Matthew Sibanyoni going into the hairpin on lap 9, cutting slightly across the white lines on the inside. No further action is taken against Pedro and the overtaking move is deemed legal because Pedro was already ahead of Matthew as both drivers turned into the hairpin.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident #4: Pedro Melo - Christian Stieger:
Ruling: In lap 27, Pedro Melo and Christian Stieger were battling for 6th place, when Pedro hit Christian in the rear, sending the Larousse into the wall. However, Pedro then showed incredible sportsmanship by letting Christian past on the final lap and guiding him to the finish line, allowing Christian to finish 6th. Pedro receives a "warning" for causing a collision with Christian Stieger but at the same time we commend his actions, as he gave up his finishing position to allow Christian to finish ahead of him; balancing out the warning. However, we ask Pedro to be a bit more careful next time around. It surely wasn't on purpose, however both drivers were lucky that Christian's impact with the wall didn't kill his engine.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident #5: Edijs Batars:
Ruling: Edijs Batars did an amazing job fighting for P3 in the Coloni C4. Unfortunately, his engine expired two laps before the finish and Edijs was forced to pull over and retire. However, Edijs failed to properly retire and therefore posed a hazard on the fastest part of the circuit. Edijs therefore receives a warning and is asked to please make sure to properly retire if something similar happens again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident #6: Kanzaini Ahmad - Marcel Jahoda:
Ruling: Kanzaini Ahmad has shown a severe lack of competence and situational awareness during the Mexican Grand Prix. First, he ran into the back of Marcel Jahoda, causing the latter's retirement. After the start of the race, Kanzaini drove without a front wing for four laps, blocking and endangering other drivers, abusing track limits with no regard to rules or restrictions and failed to notice that he was missing his front wing. Furthermore, he illegally entered the pit lane twice, once on lap 4 and a second time on lap 5, even though drivers were told not to cross the yellow curb in the Peraltada corner. This complete lack of awareness and showing of incompetence has the following consequences:
Kanzaini Ahmad receives a two-race BAN from the F1 1991 championship. He will serve this ban at the British and German Grand Prix', therefore his car, the #30 Lola, will be made available as a one-off for those races. Furthermore, he will receive a SUSPENDED INDEFINITE BAN from competition for the remainder of this racing season, which means that if he draws negative attention to the admins again during this season, he will be excluded from further competition at the administrators' discretion.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We would like to add that Matthew Sibanyoni was not involved in the decision making for incidents #1, #2 and #3.
