CMH Ruling - Round 4 (Silverstone)
Drivers involved: @sloovak#0469, @edex_LV#4528, @theoriginalttb#4427, @nandoboiii#4319
After reviewing the replay and protests of the 1991 British Grand Prix, the admins have made the following decision:
First off, the following drivers FAILED to abide by the rule of using the correct livery on their car and will receive a warning: Ryan Mitchabata, Lucas Gomes Tamba and Edijs Batars.
Marcel Jahoda receives a warning for unnecessarily driving slow on the formation lap and failing to get past Matthew Sibanyoni, causing a congestion on the grid. It's only a warning because no drivers were negatively impacted by the incident, but Marcel is advised to bring more care to the races formation laps.
Furthermore, he receives a second warning and a suspended one-race ban for the duration of two races for hitting the back of Christian Stieger going into Bridge, causing the latter's retirement. It's only a warning here as well, as Marcel was involved in this accident without intent, as Christian slowed down dramatically before the corner. Despite suspension damage, the car was in shape to take the Bridge corner at a higher speed.
*Note: A suspended race ban means that the driver involved is allowed to race, however if any further violations occur, this will trigger a race ban. In Marcel's case, if he receives another warning or penalty during the following two races, his race ban will be triggered.
--------------------------------------------------------
Edijs Batars receives a warning for causing a collision with Christian Stieger approaching Vale chicane on lap 1. Edijs braked too late and hit Christian, who was, in this case, the innocent party.
--------------------------------------------------------
The incident involving Edijs Batars, Matthew Sibanyoni and James Smith on lap 1 is seen by the admins as a racing incident, as James spun by himself and both Edijs and Matthew hit the brakes to avoid any accident. By doing so, Edijs slowed down harder than Matthew, resulting in Matthew hitting the back of Edijs.
--------------------------------------------------------
Ryan Mitchabata receives a one-race ban and a suspended indefinite ban from the F1 1991 Winter Series for not only failing to immediately retire his car after crashing out on lap 4 at Stowe, but also for driving one and a half laps at full speed with a wheel missing. IT HAS BEEN MADE CLEAR MULTIPLE TIMES THAT IF YOU LOSE A WHEEL FOR ANY REASON, YOUR RACE IS OVER AS IT CAN NOT BE REPAIRED IN THE PITS! Further incidents of this sort draw more disciplinary action from the league.
--------------------------------------------------------
Christian Stieger receives a one-race ban for the following reasons:
- Repeatedly chatting during the race session
- Driving his crippled car back to the pits despite the retirement rule above
Christian will serve this ban either in the F1 1991 Winter Series, or, should he decide not to partake in any more races in the F1 1991 Winter Series, he will serve his ban at the administrator's discretion during a series in 2021 in which he participates full-time.
--------------------------------------------------------
We have mentioned multiple times that chatting during a race session is not allowed under any circumstances. This rule has been violated multiple times, however most of the "violations" were before the formation lap, hence why we have not punished those. However, as soon as the formation lap starts, chatting is forbidden. We have put this rule in place so that driver's don't get distracted by another driver venting his anger for some reason, however when such an instance occurs where a driver not only violates the rule, but then openly admits to an admin that he "doesn't care" about the rule, that's where the line must be drawn.
--------------------------------------------------------
P.S: Over the past few Grand Prix, the recurring behaviour of a number of drivers towards to the staff has been unacceptable as the administration are trying to carry out the session.
The lack of regard and respect for the administration while trying to manage a session and correct mistakes makes the race weekend more difficult for everybody as the drivers try to control or make comments about how the session is managed out for their own ego or enjoyment.
This selfishness is intolerable and will not be welcome in CMH.
CMH at the end of the day is a free service, we don't charge our drivers for racing while the staff sacrifice their time and money to do so. Mutual respect and knowledge of this is demanded as we don't necessarily judge our drivers by their skill level alone, but mostly by their character and maturity, both on the track as much as off the track.
Drivers of good character should know that no matter what happens on track, the administration do their best to organise simracing in these controversial times of the world. We are open to criticism as a staff team and organisation, but will not condone blatant insults and disrespect towards other drivers and administrators.
