2006 GP2 Series - Rules and Regulations
Mod:
For this championship, we'll be using the GP2 2006 mod by WARNUX with this Patch and this updated HDV.
If you have issues downloading the mod, please right-click on the link and hit "Save linked content as"!
Car Selection:
This championship is a so-called "Spec Series", meaning all cars are equal as far as performance is concerned.
Car selection is free.
When car selection opens, a driver can post their selections and those of someone else who can't be online when the thread opens -- providing:
1) They only post selections for themselves and a maximum of one other driver
2) The other driver doesn't post later with a contradicting selection
How the championship is run:
There will be 11 events, all run on Sundays, which will count towards the championship. Please see the Schedule thread for the race dates.
Each event consists of a 30-minute qualifying session, followed by a Feature Race, with the weekend being concluded by a Sprint Race.
The Top-8 finishers in the Feature Race receive points, with an extra point being awarded for the Pole Position driver and the driver who achieved the fastest lap during the Feature Race.
The Feature Race Results will determine the Starting Grid for the Sprint Race, with the Top-8 finishers of the Feature Race being reversed.
The Top-6 finishers in the Sprint Race will receive points, with an extra point awarded to the driver who achieved the fastest lap during the race.
An exception to the Weekend Format is the Monaco Round, where no Sprint Race will take place.

Countdown 1: 10 minutes
Countdown 2: 2 minutes
Each race will feature a formation lap, followed by a standing start.
Pit Rules:
During the Feature Race, one pit stop is mandatory to be taken between the end of Lap 1 and the end of the penultimate race lap (depending on whether race time has run out or whether the race runs to its projected distance). It is mandatory that at least TWO tires be changed during the pit stop; it is the driver's decision whether to change the front or rear tires.
During the Sprint Race, pit stops are voluntary.
The pit speed limit during practice and qualifying is set at 120 kph, during the race the pit speed limit is set at 80 kph.
At Monaco, the Pit Speed Limit is generally set at 60 kph, regardless of session status.
Behaviour on track
A few behaviour rules :
- as for all CMH races, it is required you use your real name or an appropriate pseudonym both in-game and on the Forum. Thank you.
- Chatting is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session. It is allowed in qualifying sessions for technical issues only.
- Drive Through : If a driver has to do a drive through, even if there is no pit lane speed limit, he has to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph). If he doesn't respect this, he will get a 30s penalty at the end of the race.
- If you have a spin on the course, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure the track is sufficiently clear before you rejoin the race.
- Respect the red light at the end of the pitlane before the start of a session.
