CMH Ruling - 1969 Nordic Challenge Cup - Round 4 Anderstorp
Drivers involved: Juho Sopanen , Pau Armesto , Matthew Sibanyoni , Pascal Mikula , Juan Guerrero , Lucas Gomes , Owen Potter
1) Juho Sopanen, Pau Armesto and Matthew Sibanyoni receive warnings for chatting during qualifying. It has been a CMH rule since day 1 that chatting during official sessions is not allowed unless it's whispers to an admin on-duty for technical reasons.
2) Juho Sopanen and Pascal Mikula receive a suspended 3-place grid drop for the next CMH race they attend for blocking other drivers during qualifying.
3) Matthew Sibanyoni receives a suspended 3-place grid drop for the next NCC race for causing multiple collisions during the race, notably colliding with Lucas Gomes between turns 2 and 3.
4) Juan Guerrero receives a warning for an unsafe rejoin into Turn 7, which caused a collision with Matthew Sibanyoni.
5) After a protest filed by another driver and a day-long thorough discussions between the admins, the following decision has been made regarding Juho Sopanen's behaviour during the race:
Juho is disqualified from the Anderstorp NCC race. This may seem redundant since he DNF'd anyway, but through the DQ, he will also not score points.
Adding to that, Juho receives a 31-day racing ban from all CMH series for his behaviour towards another competitor on-track. Not only did he attempt to take out the same driver three times during the race for an arguable race incident (more on that incident below), succeeding once through turn 4, he also went out of his way to whisper insulting messages to him while driving, while in the pits, and after his final take-out attempt.
Juho's racing ban will be lifted at 00:00 London Time on October 3rd, 2021.
And finally, Juho receives a 7-day Discord mute for DM'ing the admins on-duty multiple times for no good reason while both were still in the act of attempting the race. This Discord Mute will be lifted on September 9th, 2021.
This sort of behaviour is absolutely despicable and will not be tolerated in this community! Being angry during a race for whatever reason is understandable, but one DOES NOT go out of their way to try and negatively affect anyone else's race simply because they're pissed off; no matter who is involved.
This serves as the first and final warning not just to Juho, but to everyone, to keep their temper under control.
Further infractions will lead to more disciplinary action from the league.
6) Finally, Pau Armesto receives a 3-place grid drop for the next NCC race he attends for having caused an avoidable incident with Owen Potter and Juho Sopanen on the first corner on lap 1. While Pau showed good sportsmanship by letting both Juho and Owen back past, this incident was avoidable and shouldn't have happened either way.
These rulings are final and due to their nature, not up to discussion.
