CMH Rulings - Round 2: Brazilian Grand Prix
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A general note
We've seen yet another chaotic start to a race, and we'd like to advise everyone to be extra careful at the starts, especially when it comes to engine temperature. Both Tyrrell drivers have now suffered one engine failure each at the start of a Grand Prix and, despite being told multiple times to watch their temperature, two Honda V10s have been destroyed before the first corner of the respective races. Please, for goodness' sake, watch your temperatures at the start. These cars do not have onboard fans. They overheat. You should know that. If something like this happens again and an accident is caused through such an engine failure, we will have to look at that from a more serious perspective.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident #1: Pascal Mikula - Damir Kuratko: (Lap 1)
Ruling: Pascal had an inferior start to Damir in the first part of the start phase, allowing Damir to get alongside him. Pascal did not notice the Minardi in time and thus squeezed Damir to the edge of the track, causing him to spin out and almost crash. However, Damir did not suffer any mechanical damage from this incident and managed to finish third regardless. Therefore the admins (Matthew and Alex; Pascal was not involved in this decision as he was involved in said incident) have decided that Pascal Mikula receives a three-place grid drop for the Mexican Grand Prix.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident #2: Christian Stieger - Edijs Batars: (Lap 1)
Ruling: After watching the replay of lap 1, the admins have made the following observation: Edijs Batars had a superior start compared to Christian Stieger, managing to overtake him before Tamburello. Going into Tamburello, Christian hit Edijs' left-rear tire with his right-front tire, causing both him and Edijs to leave the track and causing Christian to hit the outside wall, causing suspension damage to his car, which compromised his race. Furthermore, coming out of Tosa, Christian and Edijs were side-by-side, when Christian veered to the right, nudging into Edijs' car, causing him to go onto the grass. As this is the second race in a row where Edijs and Christian are involved in an incident with Christian seemingly at fault, the admins have made the following decision: Christian Stieger must either start the Mexican Grand Prix or the British Grand Prix from the back of the grid. Christian has the opportunity to either DM an admin or broadcast his decision in #f191-chat before the start of Qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That being said, there was no other incidents during this race, and as such, we want to express our thanks to the drivers for having held a cleaner race than in Brazil. Keep it up, guys!
Christian Stieger will serve his penalty at the Mexican Grand Prix.
